Lao-Tzu and Machiavelli on Federal government and Those Whom Govern

Lao-Tzu and Machiavelli on Federal government and Those Whom Govern Machiavelli, in " The Prince” and Lao-Tzu in " ”Thoughts through the Tao-te Ching” have very opposing views. In their writings, they change on subject areas such as features of a leader, functions of presidency, and human nature and the globe around them. Below I will identify each of their views and compare right after. Both Machiavelli and Lao-Tzu are philosophers writing in regard to Government, giving advice in ways that they truly feel people should be governed. Even though both consisting their writings long ago, a few of the advice given can still be placed to great use in our modern world today. Machiavelli and Lao-Tzu are both very intelligent guys, and have specific perspectives within the topics they write about. For the topic of " Qualities of a leader”, Machiavelli has such strong opinions as to how a ruler should hold himself. This individual writes about whether it is far better to be adored or feared, ultimately coming to a conclusion that a leader must be dreaded in order to control his persons. In his thoughts and opinions, a leader who is loved is usually not performing his task. Machiavelli is practically demanding and has a good need to control. He advises to be a demanding leader, obtaining and sustaining power. He seems very electric power hungry. This individual discusses reliability, good and bad reputations, and getting knowledgeable of all time and armed service. He feels that a innovator needs to be identified and solid and effective. Machiavelli requires credit for all those good in the us government. To Machiavelli it is important never to appear weak to others, particularly the people. He does not trust his persons, and his role is a master. Lao-Tzu's thoughts and opinions on the attributes of a head is very distinct from that of Machiavelli's. His notion of a leader can be compassionate, modest and ethical. He thinks that a head should be liked by his people. It's important to him to be content and confident, stating, " Because he

believes in himself, he doesn't try to persuade others....
